3 Dads Walking 2024 Day 15 - Hambleton to Yokefleet

Our day began back at the Red Lion in Hambleton where we found Abbey and her coffee van (Penelope); she treated us to some of her lovely Copper Top Coffee.

As we drank our coffee we spoke to suicide bereaved parents who had travelled quite a way to see us before we started.

Emma Webb joined us at the off again (she’s walking with us all the way to Hull); leaving the village we were down to four and so we remained for quite a way. The route was direct and good underfoot meaning we made good time in the first few hours.

Leaving Selby our route took us onto the flood defence running alongside the River Ouse. Flat and generally very good going. With the area being so rural and the population so spread out we didn’t expect to see anybody however as the afternoon wore on we were joined by a series of people. As one person left us another joined. We hardly walked alone.

Emma left us at Booth and we began the last push to Yokefleet. On arrival at the finish we were delighted to be greeted by Anna Brown, one of the original founders of PAPYRUS. A lovely way to end another long day
